12:22 pm - Hi there! I am new here!
Hi Everyone! I have been reading your entries for a while now and decided to join.
I am currently working on my dissertation, which is about how socio-cultural influences affect people's lives in today's capitalist society. Within this concept, the idea of "brainwash society" will be explored.
Predominantly, I want to look at western consumerist culture's obsession with the female body / body image.
I have created 2 questionnaires, and I want to use the results in my dissertation. Can I ask you to fill them in? It won't take longer than 5 minutes, I promise! And the questionnaires are anonymous.
Here is the address:
Once the work is done (hopefully by January 2005) you will be able to read it on my site.
Thanks for your help!!

03:22 am - Fighting for Humanity
This is my first post to this community but I just wanted to tell everyone about an organization/website I am starting up that is geared towards helping humanity. The organization is called Fighting for Humanity and can be found at www.FightingforHumanity.org.
I started Fighting for Humanity because I believe that human kind can do better. We are living in a world where people are dying every day. People are dying of mistreatment, of hunger, of war and of disease, but these deaths are preventable. Millions of people around the world are living in atrocious conditions, without a stable roof over their heads, without proper medical attention, under oppressive and corrupt governments, and even without food and water. We, however, are just sitting idly by, watching and letting these people live in horrible conditions and die needless deaths. It is our duty, not as members of some political party or of a religion or even of a country, but as human beings to do something about this ignorance and lack of compassion that is plaguing our planet Earth.
We are here at Fighting for Humanity to try and rectify this situation. We hope to provide people with the information and resources they need to make a difference and give them the greatest power of all: knowledge. We are hoping to provide our visitors with the latest information on the plights and hardships people are facing all over the world, from Cleveland, Ohio to Bangladesh, India. We also want to provide visitors with links and information on resources to help them make a difference.
Before we can really get going, however, we need to bring some traffic into our site to recruit volunteers and get the word out. So please visit our site, tell your friends about it, post our banner on your site, sign our pledge, and, if you feel so inclined, volunteer. We are in the need of an experienced web programmer and graphic designer along with people to research and compile information, help with public relations or anything else they might be interested in. If you have any ideas or questions feel free to contact us at Brian@FightingforHumanity.org and remember: working together we can make a difference.

I'm wondering if anyone here has attended Burning Man in the Nevada desert. This year it falls right around my cousins birthday, and I'd love to bring him. The catch is he's turning 12 and having never attended this festival before I'm a little hesitant.
He's very artistic, loves all things having to do with nature, and I think it would be an excellent experience for him. The prevailing vibe is usually positive at such events, but one can never tell- 3 people died at the last Bread and Puppet, after all. I guess there's always the possibility of something sketchy going down... just wondering if anyone has brought children in the past, or if there are perhaps reasons to wait a few years...
does anyone have info about Rainbow Gathering? The last time I checked their web site I didn't find much. Thanks so much- have a beautiful day. Over and out-

12:12 pm - Motto for the day
March to the happy tones of streamlined massmarket. Forget all the dark thoughts of your soul, of your heart, that make you an individual with your comforting pleasures. Conform, or be forever put out in the cold.

01:44 pm - Salutations
I look off this bridge and wonder.... What is wrong with people today? Why must we keep making the same mistakes? And how long will this go on? Why do we crave power and money? Why can't we walk up to strangers and hug them on the streets without fear of being beat or mugged for it? The chaotic species.
I know I am not the only one that feels this, though it still carries on? The United States... Oh man. We need to stop all of this shit quick. We are now butting our fat thick heads in Mexico and Taiwan? Anxiety anxiety anxiety. This is not funny man. I sit hear feeling that I have no control and wait for a bomb to hit me. I want NO ONE to feel this or have it happen too. Do you know when I hit the streets and fight 'peacefully' I am mocked. What the hell? And America thinks that Russia and Canada is insane. Hmmm... I was staring at a dollar bill last night and thought " why is it that every dollar has IN GOD WE TRUST on it? We are to sit back and worship money and power, I take it. I just left the dollar outside. So that is how I think. And do you think I can say that outside my door. Not if I expect to be called a traitor. The only flag I have outside, is one I made. A white canvas with a huge brain I painted on it. How is that for some apples?
I thought I should share a link with everyone too.
Wanna fight a GOOD fight with me?
